We recently asked fans for questions in advance of our quarterly meeting with the club. Those questions were put to the Club and these, and the Club's answers are set out below:
Q. Can I ask about why the post option has been removed for home tickets please? I buy tickets for my Dad online when he wants to go and always used the post option. He doesn't have a smart phone so can't use the app and much prefers to have a physical ticket. I understand that they are trying to automate everything but our older fans who this doesn't suit should not be forgotten. Please can this be considered especially with the changes mentioned to ticketing next season?
A. The club encourages paperless ticketing, however, does understand that this option does not work for all. Physical tickets can still be purchased and posted, please contact the ticket office on 01603 721902 (option 1) for this.
Q. Once again please can there be hooks installed in the ladies’ toilets in upper community stand!
A. We have recently completed a stadium wide walk-around and listed all improvements/maintenance issues. These are in the process of being sorted into priority/opportunity via a matrix which looks at a number of club priorities. This includes potential upgrades to toilet facilities.
Q. I made a complaint to the club about the temperature of the water in ladies toilets as it’s too hot to wash your hands with. Their response was to put up a couple of ‘Hot water’ signs… it also sprays all over the polished concrete floor making it slippery. I am still waitng to hear back from them regarding my reply.
A. As with all large public buildings, we have a requirement to store and distribute hot water above a certain temperature to comply with guidelines set by the Health and Safety Executive to prevent the risk of exposure to legionella. As per these guidelines, where there may be a risk of scalding due to hot temperatures, hot water warning signs are a suitable mitigation and are in place. We will ensure that this temperature is monitored and checked by our cleaning and maintenance teams, who will also look to provide warnings about potential wet floors within this area of the stadium.
Q. And a hook in the Cathedral Lounge men’s toilet please. It has been missing for at least 2 years.
A. We would encourage individual issues such as this to be reported to supporterrelations@canaries.co.uk.
Q. Can we have hand dryers in the ladies’ toilets in the South Stand that blow hot air & not cold air.
A. We have recently completed a stadium wide walk-around and listed all improvements/maintenance issues. These are in the process of being sorted into priority/opportunity via a matrix which looks at a number of club priorities. This includes potential upgrades to toilet facilities.
Q. Can you bring back milk pots/sachets in the concourses as well.
A. The hot drinks currently stocked have the milk already included. However, a wider matchday kiosk food review will be occurring as Delia’s Canary Catering winds down. This feedback will be fed into that review process.
Q. Could we have some soup at the kiosks please? Bored of Bovril now.
A. A wider matchday kiosk food review will be occurring as Delia’s Canary Catering winds down. This feedback will be fed into that review process, and we would encourage other suggestions and for supporters to take part in any future opportunities to give feedback as part of the review.
Q. Was just reading a thread there full of love for Onel. Remember maybe 5-6 years back we would call the club and hear 'it's me, Alex Tettey' etc. Was so disappointed they changed it when he left, it was a just a lovely Norwich thing. I think it would be cool when we called the club if Onel was the voice of the recorded message until he retires, and suspect there's a few other folks that might support this idea?
A. The club is moving to a new ticketing provider, SeatGeek. This suggestion will be passed to the marketing team and the IT team who are working on this transition and whether it is possible in the new system and whether it is something we wish to do.
Q. I have always wished for soup at half time. They did it for a few matches about 12 years ago in the River End. I had it every time. A bigger selection of ladies’ T-shirts or sweatshirts would be nice and more of the larger sizes.
A. This will be raised with the retail team.
Q. Soup is a great idea as long as it's not that dodgy powdery stuff that you get from a vending machine. You could have a match day soup as well as a match day pie.
A. Please see response relating to catering review above.
Q. It would be a good idea to have a Legends Day when former players of the club have a meal before the game then at half time come on to the pitch so the fans can applaud them.
A. We often host former players at the club and recently done this with Mario Vrancic and Marco Stiepermann. It is difficult to coordinate this for a single fixture as some former players live abroad.
Q. Would love to see the return of Golden Goal. Had several wins over the years including £500. Have never brought the raffle that replaced it.
A. The Golden Goal was replaced with the 50/50 raffle. We would be interested in the reason for not purchasing the 50/50 raffle and why the supporter believes the Golden Goal was a better product.
Q. Disabled toilets in lower Barclay to be fitted with Radar locks. Anyone uses them and the disabled have to queue sometimes missing the beginning of the match at half time. Have mentioned this before.
A. These toilets should only be used by those who need to use them. The majority of our disabled toilets throughout the stadium operate via a radar key. We will inform stewards in this area.
QI have been a season ticket holder for a number of decades now, but this season decided to relocate to the upper Barclay, and it is noticeable just how poor the facilities are in that part of the stand. The concourse is so small it is almost impossible to get drinks or food at half time let alone use the men's toilet facilities. It is disappointing the difference there is between concourses and the difference in food/drink offer should be consistent across the ground.
A. We have recently completed a stadium wide walk-around and listed all improvements/maintenance issues. This was across all 4 stands and each concourse. These are in the process of being sorted into priority/opportunity via a matrix which looks at a number of club priorities.
Q. Can money be used at the ground?
A. Carrow Road is a cashless stadium.
Q. There are still lots of seats which aren’t numbered. Recently went to the cup game against Brighton. Was not in my usual seat but in the lower river end. People were sitting in the wrong seats because they didn’t know the numbers.
A. Seat maintenance and renumbering were also included as part of the full stadium walkaround discussed above.
